Alpha Male: The Alpha Male is the head of the pack. He makes the decisions, leads the pack into war, etc. He is highly respected by the entire pack.
Alpha Female: The Alpha Female is normally decided upon when the Alpha Male takes a mate. She acts almost like an assistant to the Alpha Male, but she takes care of more pack-member related things.
Beta Male: The Beta Male is picked by the Alpha Male. He acts as an advisor to the Alphas and also doubles as head Guardian.
Beta Female: Usually established when the Beta Male takes a mate. Or, the Alpha Female chooses one just like the Alpha Male chooses the Beta Male. She acts as an advisor to the Alpha's and other Beta. Also doubles as Head Hunter.
Healer: Uses the herbs of the forest to take care of injured or ill wolves.
Healer Apprentice: The apprentice of the Healer, in training to be a Healer. When the wise shaman dies or retires, the Apprentice takes their place.
Guardian: The tough protectors of the pack. They tend to be the bigger, brawny type. They take the most patrols, and are the first to go into war.
Hunter: The leaner type. These wolves hunt for those who cannot hunt, like the elders or the pups. They may go into battle, but only as back-up, most likely.
Apprentice: In training to be a Guardian or Hunter. They will receive a mentor whom they will learn from.
Pup: Less than 6 moons, the life of the pack, ready to be a Guardian or Hunter. Or so they think.
Elders: Wolves over nine years. They have helped their pack for a long time, and deserve rest. If a wolf gets a major injury that can't be healed, they may retire and technically become an elder.
